Cookies

This site sets cookies only if you allow analytics on the consent banner. Say no — or say nothing — and your visit sets none at all.

Cookies we set

If you press "Allow analytics" on the banner, Google Analytics sets its usual cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) to tell returning visitors from new ones. They are set only after that click, never before. Your choice itself is remembered in your browser’s local storage — a single word, "granted" or "denied", that never leaves your device.

If you decline or ignore the banner, no analytics cookie is ever set. The only other cookie this software can set is a login session for the private editing area, which only we use. A visitor never reaches it and never receives it.

Cookies others could set

The YouTube and Vimeo players, and Spotify players outside the project pages, are deliberately not loaded when a page opens: you see a still image, and the player is fetched only if you press play. That is the moment at which one of those companies can set a cookie in your browser, under their own terms.

The one place this does not apply is the soundtrack player on a project page. That is Spotify’s embed and it loads with the page, so Spotify can set a cookie there as soon as you arrive — without you pressing anything. If you would rather that did not happen, your browser can block cookies from open.spotify.com, and the rest of the page is unaffected.

Our own player, on the records we hold the music for, is not one of these cases: it comes from our server and sets no cookie at all, whether you press play or not.

So every cookie on this site follows a choice you made first: a pressed play button, or a pressed "Allow analytics".

Changing your mind

The button below forgets your analytics choice and asks again. Withdrawing consent stops future collection immediately; to remove cookies Google already set, delete them in your browser’s settings (they are the ones named _ga). Every browser can also block or delete cookies from Spotify, Google and Vimeo the same way.
